Per Tim Gallagher, Parks Superintendent, the development of our park may start in early 2010 with City staff allocated before that time. More news when I have it.

compile list of receptive businesses for next time
next flyer is already approved and we can start distributing it at the end of the month.
Next work party:Will notify myballard.com and its sister site for Phinney Ridge (can't remember the name right now) along with the Ballard Tribune and the citywide Parks volunteer opportunity flyer.
Survey:Try to have this in paper copies for the next work party and online afterwards at surveymonkey.com.

Funding/scheduling timeline: The city will appoint a citizen committee to review the schedule for parks projects supported by the new levy. That should start in April.No further update has been provided.

Other:Whittier Heights Neighborhood Assoc meeting will be happening on 2/25.Discussion will focus on microhoods.

Topics discussed:Four work party dates were set: February 21, April 18, July 18 (also ice cream social), September 19, and November 28 (Holly sale, too).

Holly Sale
November 29, 9-12 work party and 12-3 sale:Volunteers are organizing the event, and we will have a work party in the morning with warm beverages provided (9-12) and the sale will start at noon.
Volunteers will be needed to prune, bundle and prep the holly, as well as a few folks to help out with the set up of the sale and any crowd control.Please contact Alyssa to help.

Pro Parks Levy
This levy includes $800,000 for our park if it passes, and will not increase property taxes.Once it passes, we begin the naming and development processes.Alyssa is trying to find out where to get signs, and will let folks know when they are available.
