Minutes from FKP Meeting Wednesday, 9/21/2011, 6:00 p.m.
Place: 1006 NW 70th Street
Present: Joan Weaver, Joni Kiehn, Barbara Hainley
Kelly Goold, park project manager, was not present, but he had informed us via e-mail that the project will probably be bid in October and construction begin in December, giving us the go-ahead for harvesting/selling the variegated holly again this year.
We discussed the holly fundraiser, to be held Saturday, November 26, from 9-noon (work party) and noon-3 p.m., (sale).
—Barbara will e-mail Jodie and Patrick (Parks) in early October to request tools for the work party and e-mail Sue Gregor about having Dibble House sell holly again this year
—Barbara will print up fliers for the sale, to be distributed to local businesses
—Barbara will contact MyBallard, the Ballard News Tribune, and Groundswell about the holly sale
—Joan will provide 1 or 2 folding tables for the work party; Andrea Faste has offered a tent; Joni said the Petersens can provide a tent as well; Joni and Barbara will provide newspaper and ribbon for the holy bundles; Joni will contact Starbucks for coffee; Joan will bring baked treats
Other business:
Historical plaque: Joni knows a graphic designer who might be interested; Barbara knows another graphic designer whom we could also contact.
The next Friends of Kirke Park meeting will be Wednesday, November 16, at Joan’s house, 864 NW 70th Street (enter on 9th, via the driveway).
