April 3rd Meeting on Sale of Webster Playground Property
Seattle Public Schools is holding a public meeting at 6:30pm April 3 in the Nordic Heritage Museum cafeteria regarding the possible sale of the Webster Playground property. The playground is currently leased to Seattle Parks and Recreation, and the notice says the school district is negotiating to sell the property to the lessee. Parks Department representatives have indicated that they have every intention to retain Webster as a public playground, but their lease has 17 years left on it. This meeting could be a good opportunity to learn more about the fate of this treasured community park, the birthplace of Groundswell NW.
