Groundswell NW invited the community to "get the dirt"on Seattle's latest MacArthur Fellow (the "genius grant") David Montgomery, UW Professor of Geomorphology & author of Dirt, The Erosion of Civilizations. David and his band Big Dirt perfomed at the 2007 Groundswell Annual Meeting.

The event was on October 26, 2008, at the Crown Hill School and also included information on Proposition 2, the Seattle Parks for All Levy.
