Groundswell welcomed Seattle Parks & Recreation Supertintendent Tim Gallagher to our 2009 Annual Meeting on Monday, March 9. Tim discussed the implementation of the Parks Levy passed last fall, and the status of the acquisition of open spaces at Crown Hill and Webster schools.

Three new Local Heroes were recognized: Donald Harris and the Seattle Parks Open Space Program, including Lise Ward, who was also in attendance; Catherine Weatbrook, leader of the Crown Hill Project; and Steve Williams of Ballard Market. 

2009 officers were elected: Andrea Faste, President; Catherine Darley, Vice-President; Dawn Hemminger, Treasurer; and Lydia Marshall, Secretary.
