Kirke Park is 10 Years Old! Our fantastic park has been open to the public since the summer of 2012 and we’re ready to celebrate! We have lots of fun activities planned — music, games, cake walk, a presentation honoring Friends of Kirke Park founding members, and more.

Schedule of Events

Music:

3:00-4:00: Sølje Sisters
4:00 – 4:30: Presentation Honoring Kirke Park Founders, followed by a tour of the Secret Garden
4:30-5:30: Seattle Civic (Polka) Band
5:30 – 6:30: Whozyamama Cajun Band
6:30-7:30: School of Rock

We’ll set up a canopy on the big lawn near the tree as a “bandstand.” Music fans are encouraged to spread out their blankets on the lawn (low chairs are OK, too) — anyone who wants to dance should make sure their patch of ground is level!

Other activities:
• Run Around! Our street will be closed except to local traffic from 1:00pm to 9:00pm
• Win a Cake! We’ll hold a Cake Walk Competition (or two…) between musical acts
• Get Your Face Painted! A face painter will circulate between 3pm and 5pm
• Launch a Rocket! We’ll set up Stomp Rockets on the lawn next to the playground
• Create Art! Buckets of chalk will be set up all around the park for local artists to decorate the sidewalk and garden/orchard walls
