There are 3 items on the Ballard District Council agenda, 7-8:30pm Wed. March 10, that are related to Groundswell's mission and may be of interest to you. This meeting will be conducted virtually via Zoom.
Seattle City Light will be reporting on their proposed Electric Vehicle (EV) charging station at the old Market Substation, between the Sloop Tavern and VFW Hall. Groundswell identified all the decommissioned substations in the Ballard District as public open space opportunities in our open space inventories, first in the mid-90s and updated in 2014, and the Crown Hill - Ballard Neighborhood Plan identified them for community use. While EV charging stations could be considered a community use, this is in the west end of the Ballard Urban Village that Seattle Parks identified as needing public open space in their gap analysis.
Their will also be presentations on Stay Healthy Streets and Ballard Neighborhood Greenways, whose early efforts were sponsored by Groundswell.
